Treatment of Anogenital Warts Located on the Cervix

When anogenital warts are found on the cervix, the clinical situation requires a specific management approach that differs from warts at other anogenital sites. Cervical location introduces important pre-treatment considerations before any therapeutic intervention is started.

Clinical Scenario

Anogenital warts located on the cervix. For women presenting with exophytic cervical warts, a biopsy evaluation to exclude high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (HSIL) must be performed before treatment is initiated. Management should include consultation with a specialist.

Treatment Approach

The approach involves provider-administered procedural therapies applied to the cervical lesions. Given the anatomical location and the requirement to rule out HSIL first, specialist consultation is an integral part of the management pathway. The full regimen, criteria for therapy selection, and sequencing are available in the structured protocol.

Treatment Goal

Resolution of anogenital warts, typically within 3 months of therapy.

The complete evidence-based regimen — including all recommended treatment options, selection criteria, and clinical decision steps — is available in the full protocol.
