Treatment of Adult T-cell Leukemia-Lymphoma: Opportunistic Infection Prophylaxis
Adult T-cell leukemia-lymphoma (ATLL) is associated with significant immunosuppression, making patients vulnerable to serious opportunistic infections. A structured first-line approach addresses this risk systematically from the point of diagnosis.
Clinical Situation
Because of the immunocompromised state inherent to ATLL, opportunistic infections are common and can complicate or precede directed treatment. All patients are assessed for infectious risk at diagnosis, including screening for specific parasitic infections that may be asymptomatic.
Treatment Approach
