Treatment of AML with FLT3-ITD or FLT3-TKD Mutation

Clinical Scenario

FLT3-mutated AML

This protocol addresses patients with acute myeloid leukaemia who carry a FLT3-ITD or FLT3-TKD mutation at an allelic ratio of 0.05 or above. It applies specifically to de novo AML — not to therapy-related AML and not to AML with myelodysplasia-related changes.

Treatment Approach

The regimen incorporates targeted therapy combined with standard induction chemotherapy for FLT3-positive patients. For those who achieve complete remission following induction and consolidation, a structured maintenance phase is part of the protocol — the full sequencing, eligibility criteria, and options remain in the complete evidence-based regimen.
