Treatment of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia: Maintenance Phase
Clinical context
Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is treated across several sequential phases. Maintenance therapy is the final and longest of these phases, following the earlier, more intensive stages of treatment.
Treatment approach
Maintenance in ALL involves a combination of oral and intravenous agents. Much of the regimen is designed for home administration, with periodic clinic visits for intravenous components. This phase extends over a prolonged period.
